2nd sessions August 1 – 20, 2022. (Cosi Fan Tutte & An Evening with Verdi)
The program consists of:
- Individual coaching for working on your role at the Musikverein Concert Hall.
- Italian diction
- Masterclasses, auditions / consultation / Q&A with agents.
- 2 performances of Così fan tutte ( 1 Concert version with piano at the historic Mozarthaus and 1 Orchestra version semi-staged at the Palais Palffy accompanied by the Wiener Festspiele Orchestra conducted by Toby Purser and 2 performances of “An Evening with VERDI” (La Traviata & Rigoletto Highlights) at Palais Palffy accompanied by the Wiener Festspiele Orchestra conducted by Alessandro Pagliazzi.
The course runs all day, from 10:30 am to 18:30, out of which 6 hours will involve active participation. Each singer has at least one (often two) 45 minutes of coaching between 15:00 and 18:30 with the conductor, language coach or stage director. In addition, there are 3-hour group sessions on most days, which will include musical ensemble rehearsals, consultation sessions and masterclasses with guest artists.
Where does this festival takes place:
In Vienna, Austria. All rehearsals take place at the famous Musikverein Concert Hall and performances take place at the historical Mozarthaus and Palais Palffy (where Le nozze di Figaro premiered).

FOR CONDUCTORS
Maximum 3 advanced conductors for each session.
Application deadline for Conductors, Pianists and Observes: April 25, 2022. Acceptances will be sent by April 30, 2022.
Two Sessions
Date: July 4 – 23 i August 1 – 20, 2022
Toby Purser, Head of Conducting at London’s Royal College of Music, is accepting a maximum of three advanced conducting and piano students to have the opportunity to join the Vienna Opera Academy. They will be mentored and coached intensively by Mr. Purser and other guest conductors, working with a wide range of singers, and fully immersed in all of the opera repertoire and rehearsals. These places are open to conductors and pianists who already have some experience and training, and who wish to broaden their abilities in the operatic repertoire.
