There are just a few young singers who have earned attention and recognition recently, such is the Norwegian soprano Liz Davidsen. Hugo Sril, a critic from the famous Gramophone magazine, wrote this comment about her debut album, which featured Strauss’s Four Last Songs,: “This album only reinforces the fact that she is one of the greatest vocal talents to appear in recent years, if not in whole decade “. Meanwhile, in his monthly column for the magazine, Edward Seckerson said “that she could be the greatest soprano since the days of Birgit Nilsson”.

On this debut album, Davidsen presents music by Beethoven, Wagner and Verdi, including some arias from operas she has performed on stage during last few years, such as the opera “Fidelio” (Leonora’s aria “Abscheulicher!”).

The album was recorded in London during the summer and autumn of last year, with the London Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of conductor Sir Mark Eldear, and will be available for purchase from 26th of March.
