The Capri Opera Festival is organizing two competitions for vocal artists at this year’s edition of the festival.
CAPRI GOLD VOICE
Gold Voice is open to singers of all voice types, between the ages of 18 and 32 years old and who are ready to perform on the world’s greatest opera stages.
Gold Voice 2022 Preselection Application Deadline: April 30, 2022
Registration for the preselections is free.
The candidates admitted to the live selections will pay the participation fee of € 90.00
Requirements for video recordings include:
- Only video recordings will be accepted
- Only high quality and recent video recordings (within the last year) will be accepted
- Opera arias must be from 2 different operas
- Arias are required to be performed in their original language
- Only live piano or orchestra accompaniment will be accepted (pre-recorded orchestra “karaoke” accompaniment will not be accepted)
- Only 2 opera arias will be accepted
Pre-selection
A pre-selection jury will listen to every recording submitted and will choose the top candidates (between 30 and 40) to participate in this year’s competition. The participants will have to prepare their competition repertoire of 4 opera arias and 2 Neapolitan classical songs.
Final Phases
The international jury, established by international Opera Casting Directors and General Managers, presided by Leo Nucci, will listen to each of the chosen participants during of quarterfinals on September 14, 2022. Twenty participants will be then selected to continue on to the semifinals, and ten singers will be chosen for the finals. The quarterfinals and semifinals are carried out in live audition form, but the final round is presented in the form of two gala concerts in Certosa di San Giacomo in Capri Island.

PAGLIACCI’S ROLES RULES
Pagliacci’s Roles is open to singers of all voice types, between the ages of 18 and 40 years old and who are ready to perform on the international greatest opera stages.
Preselection Application Deadline: April 30, 2022

- Only 2 opera arias will be accepted
Pre-selection
A pre-selection jury will listen to every recording submitted and will choose the top candidates to participate in this year’s competition. The participants will have to prepare their competition repertoire of 1 aria or pieces of duet from Pagliacci and 1 aria of the candidate choice.
Live selection
The jury, presided by Leo Nucci with Alessandro Ariosi of AriosiManagement, Francesco Di Mauro Music Director of Capri Opera Festival , Pasquale Amato Artistic Director of Capri Opera Festival, will listen to each of the chosen participants during of quarterfinals day in June 29, 2022. The participants will be then selected to continue on to the semifinals, and ten singers will be chosen for the finals. The quarterfinals and semifinals are carried out in live audition form. The Opera will be reppresented in Certosa di San Giacomo in Capri Island on 17 september and in Naples in teh program of Capri Opera Festival Terraferma.
